Supplies: You will need the following items to create a 100% cotton washcloth:
Make a slip knot: Create a circular shape by crossing the ball of yarn end over the tail. Pull from the ball of yarn and pull through the circular shape. You know you’ve done it correctly if you pull on either end and the knot disappears.
How to hold your yarn: Hold out your yarn holding hand. Lay the yarn over the palm of your hand, wrapping it around your pinky finger once and bringing it back over the palm and secured over the pointer finger. The pointer finger will act as the tension by lowering and raising as needed.
Create a chain: A chain is created by pulling the yarn through the loop repeatedly and tightening it enough so that you can get the crochet hook back through the chain to make your crochet stitches.
Single Crochet: Start your single crochet in the second chain from the hook. On your first row you will go through the middle of the chain(ch), yarn over (YO) and pull through to create a single crochet (sc). Each subsequent row, you will chain 1 at the end of the row and then turn to start the new row.
Washcloth pattern: Chain 30; single crochet until the washcloth is the size you want. Remember to ch1 at the end of each row.
